Client Brief

Highways UK is a major event bringing together those responsible for the planning, designing, building, maintaining, operating and future-proofing of the UK’s road network.

Exhibitors and sponsors include some of the leading names in transport infrastructure such as TARMAC, Thales and Balfour Beatty.

On 6 & 7 November the organisers, Essential Infrastructure Events, held the largest event yet attracting almost 6000 professional attendees over the two-day event.

Objective

Sustainability is of utmost importance to the team at Essential Infrastructure Events, who work closely with their event sustainability partner, Skanska.

In 2019, they implemented a transparent Sustainability Policy to articulate their commitment as event organisers to environmental sustainability and safety practices in all areas of their event design and production.

Compliance with this policy was a contractual obligation and required all suppliers to demonstrate best practice methodology in engaging the most energy efficient infrastructure and materials for the event.

The Results

Evolution Dome’s structures were perfect to help Essential Infrastructure Event reach both onsite sound challenges and the company’s environmental aspirations in achieving their ISO 201212 by the 2021 edition of the event.

The Evolution Dome team are accredited by the Safe Contractor scheme for health and safety management and the 10m domes used are audited annually to ensure they are compliant to the highest safety and fire safety regulations.

In addition, the domes are used and reused and require only minimal power throughout use. Plus, they can be packed down onto just a pallet which means it is easy to transport.
